It is located 30km southeast of Yuendumu on joint venture tenement applications (EME 58.83%, OML 41.17%), Karin's is a historical deposit explored by CPM in the period 1974-1981. Based on re-processed historical gamma logs, EME announced a maiden JORC (2012) resource estimate of 691t U 3 O 8 @ 0.056% (200 ppm cut-off) in July 2015 or 1.52 Million Pounds U3O8.
Redox controlled uranium mineralisation at Walbiri is contained within a white (reduced or ‘’bleached”) sandstone host unit which is confined between two shale marker horizons known as the A-shale (upper) and C-shale (lower); this unit is known as the Middle Sandstone and varies in thickness between about 90 and 120m and is variably silicified at surface. Mineralisation within the Middle Sandstone occurs in at least four separate stratigraphic levels, is broadly stratiform in nature and hence follows bedding which dips at about 12 to 15 degrees to the southwest (though steeper dips were noted), and consists of high-grade pods embedded within laterally extensive low-grade sheets of approx. 5m to 25m true thickness.
The project contains a resource of 15.5Mlbs@641ppm
